Description

Flourishing exclusively in damp, semi-shady mountain woodlands on Japan's Honshu island, this rare and handsome plant boasts a mass of attractive foliage with large, long-stalked, polished, shield-shaped leaves. In early summer, it graces the shady border or woodland garden with heads of unusual, creamy-white to greenish-yellow shuttlecock flowers.
