Description

A fabulous member of the saxifrage family, this rare woodland perennial hails from Japan, specifically Shikoku and Kyushu. Sporting impressive foliage, it starts with reddish-tinted young leaves that mature into deeply-cut, green saucer-like leaves on robust stems. Later in summer, numerous pendulous, pale creamy yellow flowers open, resembling shuttlecocks and showcasing its preference for rich, moist woodland soils.
