Description

Renowned for its large, deep red flowers, this sturdy and densely shrubby Protea serves as an excellent addition to any wildlife garden. Attracting birds, bees, and other insects with its abundant nectar, this upright shrub, mistakenly named Protea repens in ancient times, was later correctly identified by botanist Thunberg as Protea mellifera, highlighting the sweet nectar produced by the flowers.
