Formulation of Plant-Based Meat

Formulation of Plant-Based Meat

Plant-dependent artificial meats are a good source of protein. They are designed to replicate or replace not only the nutritional content of animal-based meats but also the entire consumer experience, such as the sensory characteristics, stability, and familiarity found in traditional meals. Traditional plant-based meats are developed from recipes that have been around for decades, and include mushrooms, rice, lentils, soy protein, and wheat gluten made with meat flavor additives. The crops used in plant-based meat recipes are often divided into rich ingredients, and formulating these products requires an in-depth understanding of the complex interactions between ingredients. Inputs can be isolated ingredients (proteins, carbohydrates, oils, vitamins, and minerals) or complex materials, such as flour, a mixture of proteins, carbohydrates, etc.

Lifeasible as a leading partner in the development of plant-based meat formulations. We offer a variety of solutions to process plant-based proteins into competitive plant-based meat products. Whether your formulation needs to enhance flavor or optimize organoleptic appeal, we develop a wide variety of high-quality formulations to help you create natural, sustainable, and delicious plant-based meats.

  • Plant-Based Proteins

We offer a wide range of plant-based meat proteins to create a satisfying "meat-like" texture with a juicy bite that appeals to both flexible vegetarians and vegans. In addition, we offer an evaluation and optimization service for crop protein content, quality and function.

  • Plant-Based Protein Concentrates

Our plant-based protein concentrates can increase the appeal of plant-based meats and improve their nutritional value.

  • Plant-Based Allergen Substitutes

Breadcrumbs and wheat coatings are among the ingredients of plant-based meats but are allergens for many consumers. We develop alternatives that function as breadcrumbs and wheat coatings but do not contain any allergens.

  • Plant-Based Carbohydrates

We offer an abundance of plant-based polysaccharides, including starch, methyl cellulose, xanthan gum, pectin, sodium or calcium alginate, gum carob, and gum arabic. These polysaccharides provide stability and give proteins a wide range of functions. Adding them to plant-based meats changes the overall physicochemical properties of the formulation, such as hydrophobicity, charge, and reactive groups.

  • Plant-Based Fats

We develop scalable, inexpensive animal-free sources of omega-3 and incorporate them into plant-based meats to enhance their juiciness, tenderness, and palatability.

  • Natural Extracts, Colors and Flavors

We offer natural extracts, colors, and flavors to enhance the taste and texture of plant-based meats. Whether you are looking to provide any flavor of plant-based meat, we will help you create custom, innovative and popular plant-based meat product processing requirements to fit your needs.

  • Thickeners

Plant-based meats require excellent taste, texture, and adhesion. Our selection of thickeners and thickening systems are the best ingredients for creating the desired meat texture in heated vegan foods without the need for eggs or animal proteins.

Our selected formulations contain no animal ingredients. As an ideal partner, Lifeasible has cutting-edge technology, state-of-the-art methods, and innovative solutions to support your brand in various end-use applications. We help you bring innovative products to market to meet the growing consumer demand for plant-based meats. Feel free to contact us for more information.
