As a leading provider of alkaloid analysis services based on specialized equipment and techniques, Lifeasible's team of experts has extensive experience in alkaloid identification and characterization, and we utilize state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to deliver accurate and reliable results.
Alkaloids are synthesized from different amino acids or their direct derivatives and are one of the secondary metabolites that have a strong physiological effect on living organisms, which is why it is essential to determine the alkaloid content of plants. It is essential to analyze alkaloids to understand their properties and potential applications fully. Alkaloids can exhibit various biological activities, including anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and antimicrobial effects.
HPLC: Using an ODS column in reversed-phase mode, peak trailing can be suppressed by adding acetic acid or trifluoroacetic acid to the mobile phase. Efficient analysis can be achieved by using a mixed-mode column, TCI-Dual, in both ion-exchange and reversed-phase modes. Detection is usually performed by a UV detector.
TLC: In normal-phase silica gel TLC analysis, a solvent system of chloroform-methanol-ammonia provides a good separation. nH2-type silica gel is also effective. Dreggendorf's reagent is a selective color development reagent for alkaloids. Tertiary amines and quaternary ammonium salts produce orange spots.
Because alkaloids are often found in complex mixtures, such as plant extracts or biological fluids, this makes their identification and quantification challenging. Lifeasible's team of experts has extensive experience in alkaloid identification and characterization, and we have developed specialized sample preparation protocols and analytical methods to detect and quantify alkaloids in these complex matrices with high precision and accuracy.
We offer a wide range of alkaloid assays as follows:
In addition to the above types of alkaloids, we can also provide other types of samples for analysis and identification.
1. Dry samples: Please seal them well in self-sealing bags and mail them at room temperature or in ice packs; please do not miss the sample numbers or labels.
Fresh samples: Fresh, clean plant samples immediately after picking the samples, quick-freeze them with liquid nitrogen, put them into freezing tubes, or wrap them in tin foil and keep them at low temperature or transport them to the company on dry ice. To get accurate and in line with the expected results, minimize the exposure time of plant samples at room temperature.
2. The content of different tissue parts and sample types varies greatly; please consult our technical support staff for specific sample size requirements.
In addition to the above alkaloid analysis services, we can also provide professional alkaloid purification and structure identification services. If you need our services, please contact us by phone or e-mail, and our colleagues will reply to you within three working days.
Lifeasible has established a one-stop service platform for plants. In addition to obtaining customized solutions for plant genetic engineering, customers can also conduct follow-up analysis and research on plants through our analysis platform. The analytical services we provide include but are not limited to the following:
