Yeast is a single-celled eukaryote with a clear genetic background, easy molecular genetic manipulation, controlled fermentation processes, and low fermentation production costs. These characteristics give yeast a significant advantage in the production of exogenous protein expression and as a cell factory for the production of bioenergy and chemicals. However, yeast is usually diploid or polyploid, which makes its genetic manipulation to be often difficult to accomplish.
Although mutagenic breeding and genetic modification methods are available for yeast modification, mutagenic breeding is laborious and not directed. Traditional genetic modification can only work on one resistance gene or modification site at a time, which significantly limits the application of yeast in the microbial industry.

In response to this unmet customer need, Lifeasible offers an optimized method that enables rapid genetic modification of yeast. We use the CRISPR/Cas9 platform to edit the yeast genome for metabolic engineered modification of yeast. We provide yeast genome editing systems with gene knockout, integration, transcriptional interference, and transcriptional activation capabilities. Most of the genetic manipulations in metabolic engineering can be implemented in the services we provide, and replying on our rich experience to build efficient cell factories for our clients.
Lifeasible also provides a variety of yeast genomic libraries, including knockout libraries, ORF libraries, protein interaction libraries, etc., to meet your different experimental needs. Among them, yeast knockout libraries cover 96% of the yeast genome. Different labeling and molecular barcoding technologies allow you to identify the phenotype of any strain for single gene or whole genome level phenotyping. Moreover, mutant yeast strains can also be analyzed individually by sequencing or genome-wide methods.
All you need to provide is the target strain to be edited and basic information about the target strain, information about the target genes and knockout sequences to be knocked out, or knock-in sites and replacement sequences. We will then provide you with a full range of yeast genome editing services.
Lifeasible is also actively trying to build a gRNA-tRNA-array CRISPR/Cas9 system by tandemly linking tRNA sequences with multiple gRNAs to simultaneously knock out more genes (up to 8) and maintain a high knockout efficiency (close to 90%). Please contact our staff to learn more about how we can provide you with yeast genome editing services.
